Colouring mats, books & comics, indoor & outdoor toys; plus baby changing facilities, high-chairs, a phone charging station and free Wi-Fi, Rosie-Jean’s is the place to relax on Caine Road.

Fittingly, the cafe has been named in honour of a very special lady called Jean Heathfield. Jean was an extraordinary person who dedicated her life to teaching, charity work and raising her large family. She was born in 1928, the year of the Great Depression, and by the time of her passing she was a mother to six, grandmother to no less than twenty and great grandmother to five. When she reached mandatory retirement age in the UK, she came to Hong Kong and continued teaching, working for The Woodland Group of Pre-Schools until her actual retirement at the age of 75. Jean always had a cheerful word for everyone, was well respected in the neighbourhood and adored by the many hundreds of students she taught during her fruitful life.

Jean has been sipping cappuccinos with the angels for some time now, but we know that she would have greatly appreciated the association of her memory with this cafe and the love and laughter of the many families that will come to enjoy it together.
